Total SA announced in a statement on Friday that a refinery jointly owned with Saudi Aramco has been shut down after being attacked earlier this week. Between the night of April 7 and early morning of April 8, one of the two production units at the Satorp refinery in Saudi Arabia was damaged in the assault. Total SA stated that the facility has been closed as a precautionary safety measure, and an assessment of the damage is currently underway. During the conflict with Iran, refineries in Ras Tanura, Yanbu, and Riyadh in Saudi Arabia have also been targeted. On the other side of the Gulf, multiple Iranian oil facilities, including refineries, have been damaged in strikes by the United States and Israel.
