Langfang is accelerating its integration into the "co-building a car" industrial chain of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, with automotive parts capable of reaching automakers in Beijing and Tianjin in as little as one hour.

On July 9th, within the Langfang Park of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Intelligent Connected New Energy Vehicle Technology and Ecology Port, the new factory of Hebei Yusun Automotive Technology Co., Ltd. was bustling with activity. After passing quality inspections, batches of radiator tanks for new energy vehicles were dispatched to a client in Beijing.

"Our products can reach the main assembly plants and Tier-1 suppliers in Beijing and Tianjin in as little as one hour," said Chen Peng, the company's responsible person. Currently, 14 injection molding machines have entered the trial production phase, and the company has successfully secured orders from several automakers in the region, including Beijing Automotive and Beijing Benz. Upon the formal commencement of operations in October this year, the new plant is projected to produce 13 million automotive radiator plastic components annually.

The Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region is collaborating to "co-build a car," jointly establishing the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Intelligent Connected New Energy Vehicle Technology and Ecology Port with industrial parks located in Shunyi, Beijing; Wuqing, Tianjin; and Langfang, Hebei. To date, the Langfang Park has secured 22 projects, including one from Shanghai Yousheng, and is rapidly developing a "one-hour automotive parts supporting circle."

As one of China's seven major vehicle manufacturing clusters, the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region hosts 28 vehicle manufacturers, including Xiaomi, BAIC, and Great Wall. "Closely aligning with the demands of the vehicle manufacturers in the region, Langfang is vigorously developing its automotive parts industry, accelerating the formation of an industrial structure that is differentiated, complementary, and integrated with Beijing and Tianjin," explained a relevant official from the Langfang Municipal Bureau of Industry and Information Technology.

Strategically located within the optimal 50-kilometer supply radius for automakers in Beijing and Tianjin, Langfang's automotive parts enterprises leverage a cost-effective and highly efficient warehousing and logistics system. This enables a model where orders are placed in Beijing/Tianjin and fulfilled from Langfang, with deliveries possible within one hour, solidifying Langfang's role as a crucial parts base, warehousing hub, and regional transit center for the automotive industry in the two major cities.

A favorable industrial ecosystem is accelerating the clustering of enterprises. So far, Langfang has attracted a significant number of foreign-invested companies such as Gentherm Automotive and Moeller Technology, secured investments from enterprises from the Yangtze River Delta and Chengdu-Chongqing regions like Wuxi Zhenhua and Chongqing Qingyan, and witnessed local firms including Hua'an Automotive and Haichao Manufacturing implement capacity expansion projects. This continuous improvement is enhancing the region's industrial collaborative supporting system.

The industrial chain is also extending. Langfang's automotive parts industry now covers five major modules: body, powertrain, chassis, electrical, and intelligent connectivity. It can mass-produce over 100 types of products, including high-voltage wiring harnesses and intelligent display screens. More than 40% of the parts for a complete vehicle can be sourced from suppliers within the city, providing efficient, localized support for automakers like Beijing Automotive, Li Auto, and Xiaomi Auto in the Beijing-Tianjin region.

From January to May this year, 94 large-scale automotive parts enterprises in Langfang achieved operating revenue of 11.33 billion yuan, marking a year-on-year increase of 11.4%. This growth is closely linked to Langfang's active promotion of collaborative innovation between its automotive parts companies and universities/research institutes in Beijing and Tianjin. By fostering synergy in technology R&D, achievement incubation, and commercialization, the city is accelerating the development of a collaborative innovation and transformation hub for the automotive industry in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.

The city is deepening industry-academia-research collaborative innovation. Currently, Langfang has established 43 various industrial innovation platforms in the automotive parts sector, transformed 132 scientific and technological achievements, obtained 3,576 patents, recognized 7 enterprises as specialized and sophisticated "little giant" firms, and had 13 enterprises lead or participate in the formulation or revision of national or industry standards. This has comprehensively enhanced the core competitiveness of the local industry.

By aggregating the industrial chain, momentum is building to co-build the new vehicle. "Langfang recently formulated and issued 14 measures to promote the breakthrough and leapfrog development of the new energy and intelligent connected vehicle industry. These measures provide comprehensive support from aspects such as deepening regional cooperation, targeted investment attraction, achievement transformation, and talent introduction and cultivation. We are accelerating the development of Langfang into a key supporting base for the new energy and intelligent connected vehicle industry in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region," stated the relevant official from the Langfang Municipal Bureau of Industry and Information Technology.
