IMAX Shares Surge Following Record-Breaking Box Office Debut of "Odyssey"

The global opening weekend for Christopher Nolan's film "Odyssey" has garnered an impressive $264.1 million, surpassing the debut of his previous blockbuster, "Oppenheimer."

Shot entirely in the IMAX 70mm film format, the film's immense popularity has driven a significant number of viewers to seek out IMAX theaters specifically. The intense market demand has led numerous cinemas to urgently add midnight screenings, with these additional showtimes also selling out completely.

This surge has propelled Imax Corp (IMAX) to achieve its highest global weekend box office revenue in company history. The company officially disclosed that the film's box office revenue from IMAX auditoriums reached $52 million, accounting for approximately one-fifth of the film's total global opening weekend earnings.

Bolstered by this outstanding performance, Imax Corp (IMAX) shares surged by more than 4% during early trading.
