KAI YUAN HLDGS (01215) announced its interim results for 2025, reporting revenue of HK$74.66 million, a decrease of 48.08% year-on-year. The company recorded a net loss of HK$99.96 million, representing a turnaround from profit to loss compared to the same period last year, with a loss per share of HK$0.78 cents.
According to the announcement, the shift from profit to loss was primarily attributed to: (i) partial closure of certain areas of the Paris Marriott Hotel for renovation, resulting in reduced revenue and a gross loss of approximately HK$10.1 million; (ii) impairment provisions of approximately HK$63.7 million for loans to associates; (iii) increased financing costs during the period due to higher interest rates on the EUR 175 million bank loan renewed in 2024; and (iv) decreased other income and gains due to declining bank deposit interest rates.
