CHOW TAI FOOK (01929) surged over 3%, trading at HK$12.7 by press time with a turnover of HK$115 million. The company's Tmall flagship store announced on December 17 that select products would see price adjustments effective December 19 due to market factors. This marks CHOW TAI FOOK's third price increase in 2023, following adjustments in March and late October.
The company stated that product pricing adjustments are part of routine operational policies, made in response to market conditions and consumer demand while maintaining commitments to quality craftsmanship.
Cinda Securities noted a recovery in same-store sales growth, with particularly strong performance since October. The rebound in mainland China was attributed to both a low base effect and improved store-level operations through optimized channels. From October 1 to November 18, retail sales value grew 33.9% YoY (35.1% in mainland China), with same-store sales up 38.8%. The robust growth despite high gold prices reflects increasing consumer acceptance of rising precious metal costs.
