At the 2026 Fortune Global 500 Forum held in Guangzhou on September 16, Lin Hanping, Chairman and President of BASF Greater China, delivered a keynote speech emphasizing the necessity of collaborative action in driving sustainable transformation.

With a 160-year history as a leading chemical company, BASF believes that quality growth extends beyond mere revenue and scale expansion—it must prioritize profitable growth. The company is dedicated to leveraging innovation to deliver superior solutions for its clients.

Lin highlighted that BASF aims to contribute to sustainable development through its growth initiatives. "As a chemical company, we cannot achieve sustainability alone; we need to unite the entire value chain to embark on the green transition together," he stated.

He further noted that the green transition presents significant opportunities for the industry, enabling companies to protect the environment by offering innovative solutions that reduce carbon emissions and lower carbon footprints.
