Tianjin is gearing up for its annual harvest festival, with a packed schedule of 87 special activities planned across the city and its agricultural districts. The main event is slated to take place on September 23 at Xiaochuanfangyu Village, Chuanfangyu Town, Jizhou District, as announced by Wang Zhilin, Deputy Director of the Tianjin Municipal Agriculture and Rural Committee, during a press conference on September 15.

This year's festival, themed "A New Chapter Through Harvest, Practical Progress for Rural Revitalization," will feature four core segments: watching theatrical performances, exploring the market, savoring cuisine, and enjoying scenic views. The market segment will transform the traditional Chuanfangyu market into a harvest-themed bazaar, spotlighting local Jizhou specialty products and leveraging both offline displays and online livestreaming for sales.

During the festivities, Tianjin will host international friends residing in the city at the Jizhou main venue. Additionally, in October, the "Small Agricultural Trade Fair" will be held at Lutai Market, inviting over 20 provinces and cities nationwide to showcase their premium agricultural goods.

The celebration integrates agricultural exhibitions, livestream e-commerce, and farming culture experiences. The sixth Rice Fragrance Festival in Jinnan District offers hands-on activities like rice cutting, threshing, and milling, while the Che Shen Jia Sun-Drying Culture Festival in Jizhou presents farming competitions and autumn-themed dining experiences.

Various agricultural districts are rolling out distinctive programs. Dongli District is organizing a community-linked "Harvest Exchange Market," using online broadcasts and direct community supply to drive two-way traffic. Wuqing District's Li Darenzhuang Village will host a three-day harvest food festival. Specialty items such as Chadian Muscat grapes from Binhai New Area, Baodi's "three spicy" crops, Jinghai's Wangkou fried goods, and Xiqing's Shavo radish will be featured across related events.

Looking ahead, Wang emphasized that during the "15th Five-Year Plan" period, Tianjin aims to refine its modern urban agriculture, elevate the "Jin Nong Jing Pin" brand, and drive high-quality development across agriculture, rural areas, and farmers, ultimately boosting agricultural efficiency, vitality, and income.
