Mark your calendars for Friday, August 28, as the clock strikes midnight to trigger a new round of fuel price revisions. This marks the 17th adjustment window for domestic refined oil products this year, and the current pricing cycle has already reached its halfway point.

The latest calculations indicate that petrol prices are projected to climb by 400 yuan per tonne, while diesel is expected to increase by 385 yuan per tonne. When translated to the retail level, motorists can anticipate a rise of roughly 0.32 yuan per litre for 92-octane petrol, 0.34 yuan per litre for 95-octane petrol, and 0.33 yuan per litre for 0-diesel.

As of now, the national average fuel prices stand at 7.77 yuan per litre for 92-octane petrol, 8.29 yuan per litre for 95-octane petrol, and 7.42 yuan per litre for 0-diesel. Given the impending hike scheduled for August 28 at midnight, it would be wise for drivers of petrol-powered vehicles to fill up their tanks before the adjustment takes effect, potentially saving a tidy sum on upcoming travel expenses.
