Shaanxi Micot Pharmaceutical Technology Co., Ltd. (Micot Pharma) reported that pre-clinical and Phase I clinical results for its injectable neuroprotective candidate MT200605 have been accepted for an oral presentation at the 18th World Stroke Congress (WSC) 2026, scheduled for 21–23 October 2026 in Seoul, Korea. The presentation, titled “MT200605: A Novel Bifunctional Neuroprotectant for Ischemic Stroke,” will be delivered in the Basic Science, Translational Research & Biomarkers session on 21 October 2026 from 08:00–09:30 a.m. KST.
MT200605 is described as the only neuroprotective agent in clinical development that can cross the blood-brain barrier and act on the BDNF/TrkB pathway. The molecule also demonstrates antioxidative properties and mitigates microcirculatory obstruction caused by calcium-induced vascular smooth-muscle contraction, thereby targeting multiple stages of the ischemic cascade following acute ischemic stroke (AIS) while supporting neural repair.
Phase I trials conducted in both the People’s Republic of China and the United States assessed safety, tolerability and pharmacokinetics in healthy subjects. Micot Pharma additionally disclosed that the Phase II study in AIS patients has achieved its primary endpoint with statistically significant and clinically meaningful results; full data sets will be presented at future academic meetings and in peer-reviewed journals.
The company emphasized that the announcement serves solely to update investors on pipeline progress and does not constitute promotion of any medical product.
