As autumn deepens across the Longzhong region, the sound of reading fills the air at rural schools. On September 10, the China Children and Teenagers' Fund partnered with Lenovo Group to bring volunteer members from Lenovo's LeMeng community to Yanchuan School in Zhangxian County, Gansu Province. The initiative involved donating a "Dream Future LeMeng Library" and a "Dream Future LeMeng Refurbished Computer Classroom" to the school, while also delivering the students' first "AI Class" with artificial intelligence experts providing knowledge introduction sessions for the children.
Under the eager gaze of over 1,600 students, red silk coverings were slowly removed from the plaques of the "Dream Future LeMeng Library" and "Dream Future LeMeng Refurbished Computer Classroom," officially launching these two future learning spaces filled with love and technology.
Inside the library, books were carefully categorized and shelved as children curiously stood on tiptoes, their fingers tracing along book spines with eyes full of thirst for knowledge. In the bright and clean refurbished computer classroom, rows of computers were neatly arranged with screens lighting up, reflecting the excited smiles of the children.
The "Dream Future LeMeng Refurbished Computer Classroom" is dedicated to building digital teaching environments for rural schools, helping children bridge the digital divide. Lenovo Group provides electronic device refurbishment and operational support for the refurbished computer classrooms, along with computer donations at certain ratios. During the "AI First Class" computer literacy session, AI experts guided students in operating and using equipment in the "LeMeng Refurbished Computer Classroom." Many students experienced the charm of artificial intelligence firsthand for the first time, their eyes sparkling with curiosity about the unknown world.
A Lenovo Group representative expressed hope that this library would become students' "spiritual castle" and the computer classroom would serve as their "technology starting point." They also hoped that AI education would help students open a window to see the world, stating, "Lenovo Group will always be a 'companion' on children's growth journey, accompanying everyone to fall in love with learning and embrace the future through exploration."
A project leader from the China Children and Teenagers' Fund noted that the day's donation opened a "portal" to connect Yanchuan School children with the world. They said, "Lenovo Group and caring partners from all sectors of society have demonstrated through action that charity is not a solo journey, but a collaborative effort. In the future, we look forward to more companies like Lenovo Group joining us to let seeds of love and technology take root and flourish in rural areas."
According to reports, Lenovo Group launched the "LeMeng Vision Plan" in 2021, continuously focusing on balanced development of rural education and expanding the boundaries of technology-based charity. This year's charity activities have been further upgraded, organically combining environmental protection with educational assistance through the recycling and regeneration of books and electronic devices, both reducing electronic pollution and creating better reading and information technology learning conditions for rural students.
The "Dream Future LeMeng Library" established at Yanchuan School in Zhangxian County is part of Lenovo Group's "Three-Year 100 LeMeng Libraries" construction plan. Over the past few years, Lenovo Group has fully leveraged the advantages of its "LeMeng" membership system, embarking on multiple journeys with members to donate tens of thousands of books to 33 rural primary and secondary schools across the country, including locations in Mianzhu, Sichuan; Ruyang, Henan; Xining, Qinghai; and Haiga, Guizhou.
