Drivers are bracing for another hike at the pump as the latest pricing cycle concludes, with domestic refined oil retail price caps expected to rise again.

The National Development and Reform Commission is scheduled to execute its next round of price adjustments for refined oil products at 24:00 on Friday, September 11. According to institutional tracking of recent international crude oil price movements, the projected increase comfortably exceeds the 50 yuan per tonne threshold required to trigger an adjustment, signaling a strong likelihood that retail fuel prices will move upward once more.

Data monitored by SCI International indicates that by the close of trading on September 9 local time—marking the ninth working day of the current pricing cycle—the reference crude oil change rate stood at 8.16%. Based on current trends, gasoline and diesel prices are projected to rise by 360 yuan per tonne. When converted to per-litre costs, the price of 92-octane gasoline and 0-diesel is expected to climb by approximately 0.35 yuan per litre.

For private vehicle owners, filling a standard 50-litre tank will now cost an extra 17.5 yuan on a single fill-up.
