On May 11, it was learned that WeChat Pay has recently launched a "combined payment" function. When making transfers, users can now choose any combination of two payment methods from "WeChat Balance, WeChat Change, Business Account, Debit Card, and Fenfu" at the checkout to complete the payment. The "combined payment" feature is initially prioritized for "transfer" scenarios, with other use cases to be gradually rolled out in the future. For refund scenarios, if a transaction completed using combined payment is refunded (e.g., due to the recipient not accepting the transfer in time), the funds will be automatically returned to the two original payment accounts (such as WeChat Balance and bank card) according to the initially set payment amounts. Tencent stated that all WeChat Pay users who have completed real-name verification (including users with Mainland ID cards, Home Return Permits, Taiwan Compatriot Permits, passports, and foreign permanent residence permits) can experience this feature.
