Singapore's Senior Minister Lee Hsien Loong stated that despite frequent external discussions about China's challenges, the country remains a dynamic economy making continuous progress across many sectors. For Singapore, there are still numerous opportunities for long-term, mutually beneficial cooperation with China, including in areas such as artificial intelligence (AI).

Lee Hsien Loong, who recently concluded a visit to China after a year and a half, shared his observations during an interview with Singaporean media in Shanghai on the 22nd. He noted that countries around the world are developing rapidly, with China being a particularly prominent example.

He remarked that reading about developments is one thing, but engaging with individuals who live, utilize, and experience these technologies daily offers a different perspective.

Lee Hsien Loong said, "The lesson for us is that we must also keep moving forward, learn from and engage with others, while maintaining confidence: if they can do it, we can too."

During his five-day visit to China, Lee traveled to Guangxi and Shanghai. In Guangxi, he visited the Beibu Gulf to learn about the latest developments of the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor under the China-Singapore (Chongqing) Demonstration Initiative on Strategic Connectivity. In Shanghai, he toured technological projects such as the Shanghai Humanoid Robot Innovation Incubator and engaged with Singaporean enterprises operating in the Yangtze River Delta region.

He emphasized that the Chinese market will continue to expand, increasing investment opportunities for Singapore. Simultaneously, China and Chinese enterprises also have opportunities to invest in Singapore, whether by establishing production facilities, utilizing Singapore as a regional hub, or setting up international business headquarters.
