On December 1, the Eurasia Trade Center, a comprehensive service hub located in the Bainaohu Port Industrial Park, passed joint inspection, marking its full completion. The project features twin towers standing 100 meters tall, with wing-like podium buildings extending outward, symbolizing an invitation for cooperation across Eurasia.
Constructed by China Communications Construction Company Second Harbor Engineering Bureau, the project broke ground in June 2021 and is a key development in Urumqi’s Shuanggang area. Spanning 251,600 square meters, the complex includes a 22-story twin-tower structure flanked by 4-5 story podium buildings.
As a multifunctional platform integrating headquarters operations, cross-border e-commerce, and trade services, the Eurasia Trade Center will complement the Urumqi International Land Port, fostering industrial synergy. It not only fills a gap in Xinjiang’s mid-to-high-end international trade services but also enhances Urumqi’s global and eco-friendly image.
Project leader Fang Yin highlighted innovative construction techniques tailored to the project’s challenges. To address the vast site and high-rise requirements, the team employed high-precision total stations combined with BIM technology, keeping axis deviations within millimeters. For the complex curtain wall façade, extensive design refinements and over 300 post-installed anchor pull-out tests ensured a 100% pass rate.
Fang added, 「As Urumqi’s first large-scale prefabricated construction project, we introduced ‘high-precision formwork + steel bar truss deck + ALC panel walls’ in the podiums, boosting installation efficiency by 30% and setting a local technological benchmark.」
Scheduled to engage with Central Asian markets by 2026, the Eurasia Trade Center will operate under Urumqi Economic and Technological Development Zone High-Speed Rail Hub Investment Group. It will offer end-to-end services—from product display and order matching to cross-border trade support—accommodating B2B, B2G, and F2B models to facilitate global business expansion.
Moving forward, the center will serve as a pivotal hub, integrating trade, logistics, industry, and finance to strengthen Urumqi’s role as an open gateway and innovation hub across Eurasia.
