According to interview content, Bank of America Chief Executive Officer Brian Moynihan stated on Wednesday that he will not leave the bank in the short term, but added that the company must identify candidates with relevant experience to prepare for future management succession.

Moynihan said: "I'm not leaving in the short term, but from a medium-term perspective... building the (management succession) system and allowing relevant personnel to adapt to the company's scale and size requires time."

He further added: "In the long term, I and the entire management team have a responsibility to the board of directors, which is to screen a series of candidates with the capability and experience to operate the company long-term."

Bank of America appointed Dean Athanasia and Jim DeMare as co-presidents last Friday. This move indicates that the second-largest bank in the United States is seeking potential successors for Moynihan's CEO position.

Additionally, Chief Financial Officer Alastair Borthwick was appointed as Executive Vice President.
