On the Road of Unity, Prosperity Follows

In Yunnan Province, the village of Nan Wuliqiao, under the Yanghe Village Committee in Dali Town, Dali City, is widely recognized as a prosperous and well-off community. The villagers here adhere to a shared custom: whenever a new house is built, it is set back by 50 centimeters to make way for a public pathway. As this path has grown wider, the bonds between the people have grown stronger. This single act of concession fosters harmony among a hundred households. The principle of "unity for shared development" has taken firm root in the village.

The widened road has significantly improved convenience for vehicles and pedestrians traveling in all directions. Today, this route serves not only as a main thoroughfare for the village but also as a commercial corridor, hosting guesthouses, restaurants, and small pastry workshops. In the village, it is now commonplace for families, and even groups of families, to unite and start businesses together. A single thread is easily broken, but ten thousand threads can tow a boat.

The story of this village's "Road of Unity" vividly illustrates how six ethnic groups—Bai, Han, Hui, Yi, Tibetan, and Naxi—are tightly knit together like pomegranate seeds. As the road widens and hearts grow closer, life becomes increasingly prosperous and flourishing.
