Among the standout performers, the "two barrels of oil" — Sinopec and Petrochina Company Limited (ASX: 601857) — posted strong advances, with both rising more than 3% as of the time of writing.

Currently, Sinopec holds a total market value of 660 billion yuan, while Petrochina Company Limited has reached a total market value of 2.12 trillion yuan.
