Hong Kong Stock Flash | JW (Cayman) Therapeutics (02126) Surges Over 20% Intraday as CAR-T Therapy Makes Historic Debut in Basic Medical Insurance Negotiations

JW (Cayman) Therapeutics (02126) saw its share price climb more than 20% during Tuesday's trading session. As of the latest update, the stock was up 17.72%, trading at HKD 2.79, with a transaction volume of HKD 22.16 million.

On the news front, the 2026 national medical insurance negotiations have achieved, for the first time, a "dual catalog" connection between basic medical insurance and commercial insurance. This marks the inaugural appearance of million-yuan-level CAR-T therapies at the basic medical insurance bargaining table. Both He Yuan Bio's Naxi O Cells and JW Therapeutics' Relma-cel have entered the basic insurance negotiation process from the commercial insurance catalog, leveraging the "Condition Five" policy. This dual-track approach combines "basic insurance market access with commercial insurance expansion." If the negotiations succeed, it will establish a new pricing paradigm for high-cost cell therapies under medical insurance, significantly alleviating the financial burden on patients.

It is worth noting that JW (Cayman) Therapeutics recently announced the official approval of a supplementary application for its Relma-cel injection post-launch. This approval to extend the cryopreservation period is supported by the company's comprehensive process validation data. Research findings confirm that T cells cryopreserved after CD4/CD8 magnetic bead sorting can now be stored for up to 36 months. Using these as starting materials, the company can still reliably produce Relma-cel injection products that meet predefined quality standards. Furthermore, this enhancement increases the flexibility of CAR-T production scheduling, providing greater room for selecting individualized clinical treatment options.
