Hong Kong Ferry (Holdings) Company Limited (HKEX: 00050) released its Interim Report 2026, disclosing that profit attributable to shareholders for the six months ended 30 June 2026 dropped 34.5% year-on-year to HK$0.08 billion, mainly because revaluation gains on investment properties shrank to HK$6.63 million from HK$51.91 million a year earlier. Underlying profit, which excludes fair-value movements, rose 5.7% to HK$0.07 billion as core operations strengthened.
Group revenue climbed 20.5% to HK$0.24 billion, supported by a 60% jump in gross rental income to HK$0.10 billion, reflecting full occupancy at the Metro6 arcade and contributions from the “TN Residence” youth hostel and Tai Hung Fai (Tsuen Wan) Centre. Earnings per share fell to HK$0.22 from HK$0.34 in the prior-year period.
Segment performance was mixed. Property investment delivered HK$69.12 million in profit despite sharply lower revaluation gains. Ferry, Shipyard and Related Operations narrowed their deficit to HK$9.10 million on higher revenue and a late-period fare increase for the “North Point–Kwun Tong” dangerous-goods vehicular ferry. The Medical, Healthcare and Beauty Services segment swung to a HK$1.30 million profit as the “Total HealthCare” and “AMOUR Aesthetic” brands expanded capacity.
The board declared an unchanged interim dividend of HK10 cents per share, payable on 28 September 2026 to shareholders on record as at 14 September 2026.
The balance sheet remained robust: cash and bank balances stood at HK$2.21 billion, the current ratio was 9.4, and the group carried no bank borrowings, leaving the gearing ratio at zero. Shareholders’ funds edged up 0.4% since year-end 2025 to HK$7.35 billion.
Looking ahead, management expects rental income and bank interest to remain the main earnings drivers in the second half. Supported by ample liquidity, the group plans to fine-tune its leasing strategy, optimise tenant mix in its commercial arcades and continue to assess property and business investment opportunities while monitoring macroeconomic conditions.
