Amazon.com (AMZN), NVIDIA (NVDA), and Alphabet's Google (GOOG) are reducing some of their operations in Dubai as escalating tensions linked to U.S.-Iran conflicts ripple across the Gulf region. These measures have resulted in office closures, shifts to remote work policies, and travel disruptions, leaving some employees stranded.

NVIDIA has temporarily shut down its Dubai office and instructed employees to work remotely while assessing the security situation in the area. This move is part of broader precautionary steps the chipmaker is taking across the Middle East, including measures related to its substantial workforce in Israel.

Amazon.com has implemented similar actions. The company has directed its corporate employees throughout the Middle East to transition to remote work, following guidance from local authorities. Its logistics network, including warehouses and delivery operations, continues to function where possible, though corporate activities have slowed.

The disruptions have also affected cloud infrastructure. Following drone attacks on two data centers in the UAE, Amazon Web Services suspended normal operations. Another facility in Bahrain was damaged by nearby explosions, causing service interruptions in parts of the region.
