On December 21, it was announced that Bohai Oilfield, China's largest offshore oilfield, has achieved a historic milestone by producing over 40 million tons of oil and gas equivalent in 2025. This breakthrough provides strong support for national energy security and high-quality economic development.

As the country's highest-yielding and largest offshore oilfield, Bohai Oilfield has intensified capacity-building efforts this year. It has advanced intelligent drilling and standardized engineering upgrades, enabling rapid commissioning of multiple new projects. Meanwhile, mature fields contributed over 32 million tons of crude oil annually. The oilfield has also accelerated technological innovation, digital transformation, and complex hydrocarbon development. Its large-scale offshore heavy oil thermal recovery system supported annual thermal production exceeding 2 million tons.

Established in 1965 as the birthplace of China's offshore oil industry, Bohai Oilfield now operates over 60 oil and gas fields and 200 production facilities. Over the past five years, it has maintained an average annual output growth of 5%, accounting for nearly 40% of the nation's total crude production increase.

To date, Bohai Oilfield has cumulatively produced more than 600 million tons of crude oil. It has become China's largest integrated offshore base for exploration, development, engineering, and production operations.
