On February 7, a New Year fellowship event titled "Cross-Strait Hearts Connected Through Dumplings" was warmly held in Harbin, organized by a volunteer service center for Taiwanese compatriots visiting Heilongjiang. Compatriots from both sides of the strait gathered in the ice-and-snow landscape of Heilongjiang, using culture as a bridge and folk customs to connect hearts, sharing familial bonds and celebrating the Lunar New Year together, vividly showcasing the profound sentiment of "one family across the strait."

During the "Ink Fragrance Delivers Blessings" couplet-writing session, compatriots from both sides wielded brushes together on red paper, with the aroma of ink filling the air. Spring couplets and Chinese character "Fu" (blessing) came alive on paper, condensing New Year wishes and cross-strait friendship through brush tips, allowing excellent traditional Chinese culture to be passed down and take root in hearts.
The dumpling-making session brought everyone even closer. People gathered to knead dough, roll wrappers, and fill dumplings while chatting, sharing folk customs through interaction, and deepening mutual understanding through laughter, wrapping reunion hopes and deep同胞 affection into each plump dumpling.
"Celebrating Spring Festival for the first time in Heilongjiang, the ice and snow here are beautiful, but our compatriots are even closer. Writing spring couplets and making dumplings together, we share customs and connected hearts - this is the richest taste of the New Year," said representatives from cross-strait marriage families. They noted that such down-to-earth exchanges not only inherit traditional Chinese culture but also bring relatives from both sides closer together.
As steaming dumplings were served, everyone raised glasses in celebration, wishing for auspicious New Year and well-being across the strait, with the fresh, fragrant taste full of home warmth and reunion happiness.
