NVIDIA shakes off earnings hangover with 6% surge as bullish long-term outlook reignites rally

For a long time, NVIDIA has been trapped in what many call an "earnings curse": given its extremely high valuation and intense market scrutiny, even results that beat expectations—or beat them by a wide margin—often fail to satisfy Wall Street's notoriously demanding and greedy forecasts. This frequently triggers a "sell-the-news" pullback in the stock the day after earnings are released. Recently, overseas financial media even coined a specific term for this phenomenon: "Post-Earnings Hangover."

This time, however, the script has flipped, with the market shifting from a hangover to an ongoing celebration. NVIDIA shares opened roughly 6% higher today. As of this writing, the stock has climbed more than 6%, hovering around the 6.5% mark.

The key driver reversing market sentiment came from the mid-to-long-term growth signals delivered during yesterday's earnings call: Chief Financial Officer Colette Kress provided a remarkably far-sighted outlook, projecting that NVIDIA's revenue growth for fiscal year 2028 would reach 70%. At the same time, management officially announced an expansion of its strategic partnership with Amazon. This wave of ultra-long-term, high-certainty positive catalysts has finally outweighed Wall Street's picky perspective, rekindling bullish momentum among investors.
