During the 2026 Spring Festival holiday, Yunnan's commercial sector, centered around the theme "Celebrating the New Year in Yunnan: Joyful Shopping," organized over 1,000 promotional events in collaboration with cultural tourism, sports, financial departments, and market entities. These initiatives, driven by policy support, innovative scenarios, and integrated efficiency, ignited a consumption boom, resulting in a vibrant and high-quality consumer market across the province.

According to third-party big data monitoring, total sales of goods and services in Yunnan during the holiday increased by 8.2% year-on-year. Of this, goods sales rose by 5.7%, while services sales grew by 9.5%.

Targeted policy measures effectively stimulated consumption potential. A combination of trade-in subsidies, "Colorful Yunnan" consumption vouchers, and lottery-style invoice promotions, supported by bank subsidies, platform incentives, and merchant discounts, injected strong momentum into the holiday market. The "Upgrade for the New Year" campaign saw a significant increase in green consumption upgrades. By February 23, applications for subsidies on automobiles, home appliances, and digital products surged by 53.7% year-on-year, directly driving an 84.4% increase in consumer spending. Subsidy applications for smart digital products alone rose by 68.7%, generating a 68.6% growth in related consumption.

More than 700,000 consumption vouchers were distributed for automobiles, dining, accommodation, retail, and e-commerce, stimulating over one billion yuan in consumer spending. A province-wide lottery invoice program was launched across 16 prefectures, focusing on key sectors such as retail, catering, and cultural tourism. The initiative attracted over 60,000 participants, with 290,000 invoices entered into draws and total prize money reaching 7.4 million yuan, effectively boosting consumer enthusiasm.

Innovative event scenarios successfully converted tourism traffic into consumption. Cultural, tourism, and sports activities—such as the Dehong Jingpo Ethnic Group's Munao Festival, Xishuangbanna's traditional fair, the Honghe Transnational Spring Festival Gala, and the Lancang River Beer Festival in Lincang—showcased local characteristics and fueled integrated consumption through intangible cultural heritage displays, creative IPs, and folk experiences. Sales of accommodation services in Yunnan increased by 6.6% during the holiday.

Commercial districts and pedestrian streets collaborated with restaurants and retailers to create engaging shopping environments. Key venues like Kunming's Shuncheng Shopping Center, Nanping Pedestrian Street, and Park 1903 offered limited-edition products and multiple promotions. In Yuxi, the "2026 Blue and White Porcelain Street New Year Fair" coincided with the "Yuxi Rice Noodle Culture Festival," while Pu'er hosted a cultural event titled "Savor Tea, Seek Horses, and Welcome the New Year in Yunnan's Ancient Tea-Horse Town." Daily foot traffic in major commercial districts across Yunnan increased by 31.5% compared to ordinary days.

Immersive experiences and diverse settings enhanced the festive atmosphere. Kunming's Rongchuang Tourism Town, Nanqiang Street, and Taipei Street Night Market offered dining discounts and themed performances. Xishuangbanna launched the immersive night tour "Mountain and Sea Fantasy," and Pu'er's Wuyi Farmers' Market Night Market attracted large crowds. In Qujing, the Waitan area organized cultural activities such as非遗火壶 and "Wind-Fire流星," contributing to a 22.7% year-on-year increase in nighttime consumption across the province.

Dining consumption remained strong throughout the holiday. The provincial commerce department hosted the Indian Ocean Seafood Festival and issued special consumption vouchers under the theme "A Lifestyle Called Yunnan: Indian Ocean Seafood Festival," creating unique seafood dining experiences. A "Yunnan Cuisine Food Map" was released, featuring Indian Ocean seafood New Year's Eve dinner sets and a list of restaurants offering "Foreign Guest Favorites." Platforms like Dianping and Meituan promoted local food guides for all 16 prefectures, allowing residents and tourists to enjoy Yunnan's culinary delights. Commerce bureau directors from various cities served as food ambassadors, guiding visitors to authentic local dishes. Events such as Kunming's "Taste of Spring City: Yunnan Cuisine Competition," Yuxi's rice noodle voucher program, Dali's "Food Carnival," and Baoshan's food exhibition further boosted dining sales, which grew by 7.5% year-on-year.

Yunnan's local products gained nationwide popularity during the holiday. Leveraging its unique agricultural advantages, the province promoted "Yunnan Products" through online and offline channels. The "2026 Yunnan Online New Year Shopping Festival" featured a dedicated section for Yunnan specialties on e-commerce platforms, supported by digital vouchers and cross-regional promotions. Blueberry gift sets and floral arrangements became bestsellers, with daily shipments reaching 350,000 boxes of blueberries and 1.2 million flower parcels. Over 60 "Colorful Yunnan Market" events were held in commercial areas, markets, and communities, showcasing time-honored brands, green foods, and cultural creative products.

Market supplies remained ample and stable throughout the holiday. Commerce authorities ensured sufficient stock and price stability for daily necessities. Monitoring data showed that among 12 major categories of essential goods, four saw slight price increases, three remained stable, and five decreased compared to the week before the holiday. Compared to the same period last year, three categories experienced modest price increases, while nine saw declines.
