Shenzhen International (HK: 00152) has announced that S&P Global raised its issuer credit rating from BBB to BBB+, with a stable outlook, effective July 30, 2026.
The rating upgrade reflects S&P Global's comprehensive assessment of Shenzhen International's strategic position, asset portfolio, shareholder backing, and core operational strengths. As Shenzhen continues to advance its urban transportation and logistics infrastructure, the company has steadily increased its investment in regional logistics networks, significantly elevating its importance within the city's modern logistics system and increasing the likelihood of receiving local government support.
Meanwhile, the company's portfolio of high-standard logistics warehousing assets has been continuously refined. This year, the Pinghu South Comprehensive Logistics Hub, a core multimodal transport project combining road, rail, and sea freight with a built area of 850,000 square meters, was successfully completed and put into operation. Combined with its existing premium warehousing resources, the company now holds approximately two-thirds of Shenzhen's high-standard logistics warehousing assets, effectively bolstering the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area logistics hub.
Additionally, its core subsidiary, Shenzhen Expressway Company Limited, holds a dominant position in the regional toll road sector, operating around 90% of Shenzhen's toll road market by mileage. The ongoing Jihe Expressway expansion project is expected to further consolidate its industry-leading advantages. The subsidiary's stable operations and cash flow provide strong support for the overall development of Shenzhen International, and these combined core strengths underpinned the latest credit rating upgrade.
