On November 7, Meituan-W held the "Games & Group Action" campaign in Shenzhen, introducing a series of initiatives including the "Rider Service Relay," "Speed & Warmth Rider Care Plan," and "Consumption Ecosystem Support Program." These efforts aim to leverage the platform's technological, ecological, and service advantages to fulfill corporate social responsibility and promote the integrated development of urban culture, commerce, tourism, and sports. Representatives from Guangdong Provincial Social Work Department, Shenzhen Municipal Social Work Department, Shenzhen Internet Enterprise Working Committee, Shenzhen Commerce Bureau, Shenzhen Market Supervision Bureau, Shenzhen Culture and Tourism Bureau, and Shenzhen Media Group attended the event.
During the National Games, Meituan-W's "Rider Service Relay" will provide volunteer assistance to tourists and residents, enhancing the event atmosphere. Riders will serve as "city guides," offering accurate directions to stadiums, transport hubs, and landmarks. A "Flash Messengers" team will utilize riders' familiarity with urban traffic to report micro-circulation conditions around venues, aiding navigation and congestion relief. Additionally, riders will distribute "Bay Area Games Etiquette Guides," launch special "Silver Harbor" delivery services for seniors, report public facility damages for timely repairs, and pilot a "Community Emergency Pioneers" mechanism to support smooth event operations.
To empower riders further, Meituan-W unveiled the "Speed & Warmth Rider Care Plan," establishing a robust career support system. Rider pension subsidies now cover nationwide, while occupational injury insurance extends to 17 provinces. Overtime penalty waivers will be fully implemented by year-end. Beyond basic benefits, Meituan-W is enhancing riders' work-life balance with plans to build 1,000 rider homes and 100,000 rest stations in collaboration with social work departments and unions. Additional perks include family travel subsidies, daily expense allowances, annual health checkups, and specialized care for female riders.
Ahead of the event, Meituan-W upgraded its "Rider Good Deeds Reward" and "Rider Heroism Award" programs, offering up to RMB 100,000 for exemplary riders.
Anticipating surging local service demand during the Games, Meituan-W will invest millions in its "Little Yellow Light" consumption subsidy program to attract spectators and tourists to explore urban消費場景. Nationwide livestreams in Guangzhou and Shenzhen will feature "games + dining" packages, while its travel platform launches a "Winter Hot Springs Season" with AI-assisted bookings. Over 10,000 sports venues will join the "National Fitness on Meituan" campaign, offering blind box giveaways, Games ticket lotteries, and charity incentives.
Zhang Hongwei, Meituan-W Vice President and Greater Bay Area Director, stated that as a tech-driven retail platform, Meituan-W will leverage smart services to support the Games while fulfilling social responsibilities, aligning with urban development and user needs to contribute to a "splendid, exceptional, and extraordinary" sporting event.
