CHINA UNICOM (00762) saw its stock price rise more than 3% in afternoon trading. At the time of writing, the share was up 2.75% to HKD 7.86, with a turnover of HKD 231 million.

The increase follows recent company developments. On May 17, it was reported that the 2026 CHINA UNICOM Shanghai Artificial Intelligence Innovation Ecosystem Conference was held on May 16. In the area of computing power and security ecosystem development, Shanghai Unicom, in collaboration with the Shanghai Computing Power Network Association, the Shanghai Artificial Intelligence Laboratory, and multiple industry chain partners, jointly released a fully domestic "National Chip, National Model, National Cloud" security foundation.

Leveraging the Lingang Intelligent Computing Center, the company has completed the domestic adaptation for nearly a hundred industry-specific large models. This initiative aims to build an autonomous, controllable, secure, and reliable AI infrastructure system to provide security support for the high-quality development of Shanghai's artificial intelligence industry.

Notably, during the conference, Shanghai Unicom simultaneously released a full-stack AI product system for government and enterprise clients. This includes diversified computing power services, multi-tier Token products, and integrated service packages. The company also launched a computing power accessibility initiative and upgraded its model services, data platform, and intelligent agent marketplace. These offerings cover the entire process from data governance and model invocation to application development, aiming to help enterprises achieve digital and intelligent transformation in a lightweight and low-cost manner.

Recently, CHINA UNICOM held a seminar in Xiong'an focused on supporting national regional coordinated development. The seminar emphasized keeping pace with AI development trends, leveraging core capabilities in "connectivity" and "computing power," and acting as a producer, operator, and service provider for Tokens, highlighting the company's advanced and secure capabilities.
