SK Group announced on Tuesday that NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang met with SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won in Taipei to explore future collaboration in artificial intelligence (AI) memory.

The meeting took place on Monday, as both executives were attending the Computex technology trade show in Taipei, one of Asia's largest tech expos.

SK Group noted in a social media post that the meeting occurred as SK hynix's market capitalization surpassed the $1 trillion mark, with the leaders celebrating this milestone achievement together.

The post added that the gathering provided an opportunity to review the companies' joint accomplishments in AI memory and to reaffirm their commitment to pioneering a new chapter in AI infrastructure.

Jensen Huang had previously indicated plans to visit South Korea this week, mentioning robotics as a potential area for NVIDIA's investment in the country.

Industry sources suggest Huang is expected to arrive in Seoul late Thursday. On Friday, he is scheduled for a series of meetings with leaders of major Korean conglomerates, likely including Chairman Chey Tae-won, LG Group Chairman Koo Kwang-mo, and Naver founder and Chairman Lee Hae-jin. Sources also noted that Hyundai Motor Group Executive Chair Euisun Chung is actively considering attending.

Analysts indicate the upcoming discussions are expected to cover not only cooperation in AI semiconductors but also extend to robotics and physical AI, an emerging field focused on integrating AI with real-world machines and systems.
