Several users have reported that their HP Inc devices are unable to install the August cumulative update KB5121003, causing the system to remain stuck on the HP logo screen after a reboot. The issue gained traction on the Microsoft community forums in late August, where a user named Grady described the problem on a newly purchased HP notebook, though the specific model was not listed in the original post.

According to the thread, more than 20 commenters have confirmed experiencing the same malfunction. One user, Rob, detailed his case involving an HP Inc OmniBook X Flip 2-in-1 14-inch laptop, model 14-KC0013DX / D31MHUA#ABA. That device runs on an AMD Ryzen AI 5 430 processor, 16GB of RAM, a 512GB solid-state drive, a 2K OLED touchscreen, and the Windows 11 Home 25H2 operating system.

Rob explained that while the update downloaded without issue and prompted a restart, the machine froze at the HP logo during the reboot. Eventually, Windows entered automatic repair mode, which rolled back the update and surfaced the 0x800f0845 error code.
