On September 3, iShares Bitcoin Trust rose 3.04% in regular trading, trading at $45.18/share, with turnover of $882 million. The rally comes as BlackRock publicly reaffirmed that a 1%-2% Bitcoin allocation meaningfully improves portfolio risk-adjusted returns.

According to BlackRock's latest research, adding 1% Bitcoin to a traditional portfolio lifts the Sharpe ratio to 0.90, and a 2% allocation pushes it to 0.96, while maximum drawdown increases only marginally from -20.3% to -20.9%. BlackRock characterized Bitcoin's fixed supply, decentralization, and independence from sovereign issuers as fundamentally differentiating its risk profile from traditional assets. IBIT, launched in January 2024, surpassed $50 billion in assets in under a year and now holds approximately 775,000 BTC — over 60% of all US spot Bitcoin ETF holdings.

The endorsement arrives amid broader institutional momentum. Over recent sessions, US spot Bitcoin ETFs have seen sustained net inflows, with IBIT alone accumulating over $2.6 billion in eight trading days. Gold and Bitcoin ETFs together attracted a record $7 billion over five trading days as investors positioned for a so-called devaluation trade driven by US fiscal deficit concerns and dollar weakness.
