Zhongyu Energy buys back 2.00 million shares for HKD 5.71 million, trimming free float by 0.07%

Hong Kong–listed Zhongyu Energy Holdings Limited disclosed on 20 May 2026 that it repurchased 2.00 million ordinary shares on the Stock Exchange on the same day. The shares were bought at prices between HKD 2.83 and HKD 2.88, for a volume-weighted average consideration of HKD 5.71 million. All repurchased shares are being held as treasury stock.

Following the transaction, the company’s issued share capital (excluding treasury shares) fell to 2,720.81 million, down 0.07% from 2,722.81 million. Treasury shares rose to 27.50 million, while total issued shares remained unchanged at 2,748.31 million.

The buyback forms part of a mandate approved on 2 June 2025 that allows for the repurchase of up to 277.18 million shares. Cumulative purchases under this mandate now stand at 27.50 million shares, equivalent to 0.99% of the issued share count on the mandate date.

Under Hong Kong listing rules, Zhongyu Energy is subject to a moratorium on issuing new shares or selling treasury shares until 19 June 2026. All repurchases were executed in compliance with the Main Board Listing Rules, according to the company’s filing.
