Haier Smart Home Co., Ltd. announced that it will seek shareholder approval at its 2025 annual general meeting to appoint Paul Yu Hay Siu as an independent non-executive director (INED) for the company’s 12th board session. His nomination follows the expiry of the six-year term of current INED Wong Hak Kun, who will step down once the new appointment is confirmed.

Siu, born in October 1960 and a Hong Kong resident, holds a Bachelor of Mathematics from the University of Waterloo, is a Hong Kong Certified Public Accountant and a Chartered Professional Accountant (Ontario). He spent more than 25 years at Deloitte China and Deloitte Asia Pacific, where roles included Deputy CEO and Chief Operating Officer of Deloitte China and Corporate Development Leader for Deloitte Asia Pacific, overseeing multiple regional acquisitions. Siu currently serves as an INED at Shanghai Jiaoda Onlly Co., Ltd. (since November 2023) and is slated to join the boards of Tong Ren Tang Technologies Co. Ltd. in February 2026 and Hangzhou Tigermed Consulting Co., Ltd.

Upon appointment, Siu will sign a service contract with Haier Smart Home. His remuneration package comprises fixed annual pay of RMB0.36 million before tax, plus committee-based service compensation and a participation-linked floating allowance. The Shanghai Stock Exchange has reviewed his qualifications without objection, and Siu has confirmed compliance with independence criteria under Hong Kong Listing Rule 3.13.

A circular detailing the proposed election and the notice of the 2025 AGM will be dispatched to shareholders in due course. Haier Smart Home’s board expressed gratitude to outgoing director Wong Hak Kun for his six years of service.
