BYD Secretary Li Qian recently shared a personal reflection on his social media account, recounting a significant investment from six years ago.

In December 2020, Li Qian stated that the company participated in the first round of financing for ChangXin Memory Technologies (CXMT) at a pre-investment valuation of 19.8 billion yuan. At that time, CXMT was facing substantial cumulative losses, high capital expenditures, technological gaps, patent barriers, and equipment restrictions, drawing widespread external skepticism.

Today, CXMT has successfully completed its IPO, closing with a market capitalization of 3.27 trillion yuan. Li Qian noted that this achievement has turned all prior doubts into admiration and astonishment.

According to public records, Li Qian currently serves as the Board Secretary and General Manager of the Investment Department at BYD Company Limited. Born in September 1973, he is a Chinese citizen with no permanent foreign residency and holds a master's degree. He graduated from Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics in 1997 with a bachelor's degree in economics and earned an Executive MBA from Peking University's Guanghua School of Management in July 2016. From 1997 to 2001, he worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers and Arthur Andersen. Between 2001 and 2005, he served as a Securities Affairs Representative at ZTE Corporation, leading its H-share listing in 2004. Li Qian joined BYD in August 2005 and has been responsible for the group's capital market operations ever since.
