Beijing's Box Office During National Day Holiday Exceeds 200 Million Yuan

On the final day of the National Day holiday, data from the Beijing Municipal Culture and Tourism Bureau revealed that during the National Day holiday, the capital's stage hosted a total of 368 licensed performances totaling 2,329 shows, drawing approximately 690,000 audience members and generating box office revenue of about 230 million yuan.

Theme performances, premium productions, and large-scale concerts took turns appearing on stage, offering citizens and tourists a rich holiday cultural feast.

The "FFOREVER City of Stars" concert, Zhou Chuanxiong's "Never Forget, Meet Again Plus" concert, Xu Liang's "Time Folding" concert, and Meng Tingwei's "How Many Flowers Fall in Dreams, Flowers Bloom as Before" concert were held with great enthusiasm, while the Beijing Grand Canal Music Festival and Aranya Yansi Music Holiday ignited the stage, attracting large crowds of audience members who traveled to Beijing for a single performance.

The Beijing Symphony Orchestra's Third Taihu Classical Music Season, the Beijing Peking Opera Theater's "National Day Celebration - Classic Peking Opera Repertoire Showcase," and the National Centre for the Performing Arts Percussion Festival presented a spectacular array of performances.

Theme performances such as the National Centre for the Performing Arts' "A Century of Glory - Long March Song Cycle" and the "Ode to the Red Flag" Beijing Symphony Orchestra National Day Concert paid tribute to the nation's birthday.

Premium productions took turns on stage, including the stage play "Spring Dawn on the Su Causeway," the Peking opera "Farewell My Concubine," the pingju opera "Thunderstorm," and the dance drama "Confucius."

Foreign masterpieces gathered in the capital, including the ballet "Swan Lake" and "The Nutcracker," the flamenco dance drama "Carmen," and the Vienna Boys' Choir concert.

New performance spaces also delivered outstanding results, with the Mahua FunAge A99 Theater, Fanxing Drama Village Theater Two, and Gulou West Theater presenting the immersive heart-stirring spectacular "Midnight Investigation Bureau," the immersive hardcore mystery thriller "Bystander Report," and the immersive absurdist musical "Breaking Walls" Beijing limited edition, respectively.

Jixiang Grand Theater, Zhengyici Theater, and Yanliao Hall presented the Peking opera "Qin Xianglian," the kunqu opera "The Peony Pavilion," and the yueju opera "Rouge," respectively.

The China Puppet Theater and Nanluo Theater brought children's theater performances including "Kaku's Big Plan: Tyrannosaurus Rex Leqi" and "Visible Dunhuang: Us in the Murals."

In addition, cultural centers at all levels across the city, public libraries, and other public cultural institutions launched 986 public-benefit cultural activities totaling 1,104 sessions, including reading promotion, intangible cultural heritage experiences, and artistic performances, with cumulative participation of 552,600 person-times, allowing citizens to enjoy a fulfilling and colorful holiday cultural life right at their doorstep.
