Wells Fargo announced on Tuesday that its board of directors has approved an increase in the quarterly dividend on its common stock to $0.50 per share, a $0.05 or 11% increase from the previous $0.45 per share. The dividend is payable on September 1, 2026, to shareholders of record as of August 7, 2026.
The dividend increase was previously signaled following last month's Federal Reserve annual stress test. Wells Fargo successfully passed the 2026 regulatory stress test, with its stress capital buffer remaining at the regulatory minimum of 2.5%, providing ample room to enhance shareholder returns. Based on the stock's Tuesday midday trading price of approximately $86.81, the new quarterly dividend translates to an annualized yield of about 2.3%.
Wells Fargo has recently reported strong financial performance. Its second-quarter earnings showed revenue of $22.6 billion, up 9% year-over-year, and diluted earnings per share of $2.00, a 25% increase from the same period last year. All business segments contributed to the growth, with net interest income rising 5% and non-interest income increasing 13%.
Headquartered in San Francisco, Wells Fargo is one of the leading financial services companies in the United States, with approximately $2.3 trillion in assets. It offers a diversified range of banking, investment, and mortgage products and services through four operating segments: Consumer Banking and Lending, Commercial Banking, Corporate and Investment Banking, and Wealth and Investment Management.
