Recent data released by the State Administration for Market Regulation shows that as of September 2025, the total number of organizations in China has reached 202 million.
Among these, profit-making legal entities (companies and other corporate entities) account for 29.2%, non-profit legal entities make up 2.7%, special legal entities represent 0.9%, unincorporated organizations constitute 4.2%, and individual businesses dominate at 63.0%.
In the first three quarters of the year, 20.19 million new organizations were established, while 15.7 million were deregistered, and 30.21 million underwent changes. The total number of organizations continues to grow, showing a 1.9% increase compared to the end of 2024.
