Paycom Software (PAYC) shares surged 6.99% in after-hours trading on Wednesday, following the release of the company's second-quarter financial results that exceeded analyst expectations.
The company reported adjusted earnings per share of $2.78, significantly beating the IBES estimate of $2.38. Revenue for the quarter came in at $531.2 million, also surpassing the consensus estimate of $513.1 million. Adjusted net income was $128 million, above the $118.3 million estimate, while adjusted EBITDA reached $235 million versus the forecasted $213.2 million.
The strong performance across both top and bottom lines fueled investor optimism, driving the sharp upward move in the stock during the extended trading session.
