Recent market speculation has suggested that HKEX is exploring the addition of a new chapter to its listing rules, potentially merging the Growth Enterprise Market with the Main Board, with a public consultation expected before year-end. In response on August 27, HKEX clarified that it has already implemented the first-phase measures to enhance the competitiveness of its listing regime, which have gained widespread market support and further solidified Hong Kong's status as a premier global capital-raising destination.

A spokesperson for HKEX stated: "We will continue to examine additional measures to refine our listing framework, ensuring it remains forward-looking and aligned with evolving market demands, and will announce progress in due course." Notably, HKEX completed the initial phase of its listing regime overhaul in July, with the revised Listing Rules now in effect, covering enhancements across three key areas: initial listing arrangements, companies with weighted voting rights, and overseas issuers.

The exchange's commitment to ongoing optimization underscores its proactive approach to maintaining regulatory relevance and market efficiency amid shifting global dynamics.
