Shares tied to space-based solar power concepts experienced a broad decline, with Drinda (02865) dropping 7.51% to HK$41.64, Flat Glass (06865) falling 4.23% to HK$10.86, Xinyi Solar (00968) decreasing 4.23% to HK$3.4, and Xinte Energy (01799) down 2.57% to HK$7.2 by the time of writing.

The downturn follows a statement on February 4th from Liu Yiyang, Executive Deputy Secretary-General of the China Photovoltaic Industry Association, who indicated that space-based photovoltaic technology is still in the preliminary stages of exploration and verification, making it too early to determine a definitive technological path.

He further noted that the capital market's enthusiasm for heterojunction (HJT) perovskite technology is largely fueled by "cost-reduction logic" proposed by certain financial institutions, while the actual products remain in laboratory or early verification phases, still far from achieving large-scale commercial viability.
