On September 20th, the Second Oil Production Plant of Changqing Oilfield located in Qingyang, Gansu Province achieved a breakthrough in daily crude oil production, surpassing the 10,000-ton milestone and reaching 10,039 tons. This marks the establishment of a major oilfield with daily crude oil production exceeding 10,000 tons in the revolutionary base area of Qingyang, Gansu, injecting strong momentum into China's crude oil reserve increase and production enhancement, safeguarding national energy security, and promoting the construction of the eastern Gansu comprehensive energy and chemical base.

The Second Oil Production Plant of Changqing Oilfield is situated in Qingyang City, Gansu Province, which belongs to the gully region of the Loess Plateau in the middle reaches of the Yellow River. The area features coexisting oil, coal, gas, wind, and solar resources, serving as an important component of the Ordos Basin and a key region in the Shaanxi-Gansu-Ningxia energy "golden triangle" planning. The region has proven geological oil reserves of 20 billion tons, accounting for 40% of the total resources in the Ordos Basin.

Established in 1971, the Second Oil Production Plant is the earliest oil production facility established by Changqing Oilfield in Qingyang and serves as the main force in oil and gas exploration and development in Qingyang. The oil production blocks cover four counties and districts in Qingyang City: Qingcheng, Huachi, Huanxian, and Xifeng.

Over the past 54 years since its establishment, the Second Oil Production Plant has continuously challenged the limits of low-permeability reservoir exploration and development. Through technological innovation and the application of "horizontal well + volume fracturing" technology, significant breakthroughs have been achieved in the large-scale and efficient development of shale oil on the eastern Gansu Loess Plateau, realizing the transformation from multiple low-yield wells to fewer high-yield wells, strongly supporting crude oil production increases.

To date, the Second Oil Production Plant of Changqing Oilfield has successfully developed 10 low-permeability oil fields in the Qingyang revolutionary base area, established 5 thousand-ton-level oil production operation areas, maintained efficient and stable production in old oil fields for 8 consecutive years, and cumulatively contributed over 86 million tons of crude oil to the nation.
