The "Salute to the Chinese Economy – Entrepreneurs' Night 2025" gala was held in Beijing on January 29. Han Bicheng, Founder and CEO of Zhejiang BrainCo Technology, attended to receive a tribute. Gao Dekang, Chairman of the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce Textile and Apparel Chamber of Commerce, Founder of the Bosideng brand, and Chairman of the Board and President of the Group, along with Yin Ye, CEO of BGI Group, witnessed the honor.

Under his leadership, BrainCo has grown into a leading global enterprise in non-invasive brain-computer interface technology, receiving numerous important international recognitions. Through a decade of technological攻坚 (攻坚:攻坚克难, overcoming difficulties), he broke foreign monopolies, turning mind control from science fiction into reality. With continuous technological innovation, he has developed core products like intelligent bionic hands and bionic legs, enabling people with disabilities to regain life skills and bringing hope to over a thousand children with autism. He believes the significance of scientific research lies not only in discovering the unknown but also in changing lives. Gao Dekang expressed that BrainCo is turning science fiction into reality, allowing the world to see the power and height of Chinese innovation. Yin Ye stated that when you see someone who has lost a lower leg able to dance and rock climb again, or someone who has lost a forearm able to play the piano again through their bionic hand, in that moment, people are not shocked by the technology itself, but moved to tears by this warmth of humanity. Last year, the "Six Little Dragons of Hangzhou" caused a nationwide sensation, and BrainCo was a very solid member of that group; this is the power of Chinese creation and Chinese manufacturing.

In his acceptance speech, Han Bicheng said that the technology of BrainCo might sound very cutting-edge and distant, but their work is actually very close to daily life. He revealed that according to data from the official website of the China Disabled Persons' Federation, there are approximately 5 million people in China with physical limb disabilities. These individuals have gradually withdrawn from work and society due to the loss of their hands or feet. What BrainCo wants to do is very simple: use what seems like the most advanced technology—mind control—to help these people without hands or feet, allowing them to regrow limbs, step out of their homes again, and return to work and life.

The following is a transcript of his speech: Han Bicheng: Thank you all very much! We are actually a company working on brain science and brain-computer interfaces called BrainCo, and I am also a researcher. You may have recently noticed that Sam Altman, the founder of OpenAI, recently announced he is starting a new company focused on brain-computer interfaces. The famous entrepreneur Elon Musk, nine years ago, was a co-founder of a brain-computer interface company called Neuralink. Our company, BrainCo, has actually been working on this for ten years. BrainCo's technology might sound very cutting-edge and distant, but our work is actually very close to life. We know that in China, according to data from the China Disabled Persons' Federation's official website, there are probably about 5 million people with physical disabilities who have lost hands or feet. These people, because they have lost their limbs, are now mostly staying at home and have gradually left work and society. So what we want to do is very simple: can we use what seems like the most advanced technology—mind control—to help these people without hands or feet, allowing them to regrow limbs, step out of their homes again, and let them return to work and life.

In my experience, one scene left a deep impression on me. We fitted a user who had lost a hand 27 years ago with a neurally controlled prosthetic. After it was installed, he didn't attempt very complex challenges or operations, but repeatedly tried to see if he could pick up a cup. After many attempts, he finally picked up the cup, drank some water, and then told us that he didn't necessarily say the technology was amazing, but rather that he felt his hand had finally returned after 27 years. So we feel that what we are doing is not just a high-tech product, nor a cold technology, but is about helping some individuals, a group of people, helping 5 million people, to reconnect their interrupted lives, even if just a little bit.

We are also currently working on another product that might be more or less useful to everyone, because many people suffer from insomnia. We have been developing a product for five years that can help people sleep a little better. Although this technology is very difficult and the first product wasn't particularly great, it has already helped a group of people start to sleep well. Some of our users have left us messages saying they feel they haven't truly had a good night's sleep for decades. We also realize that having a good sleep itself is a kind of happiness that has been neglected for a long time, but brain-computer interface technology can solve this problem. We hope to use brain-computer interface technology to help more people with physical disabilities walk again, help children with autism speak, help people with insomnia sleep soundly, and also hope to help elderly people with Alzheimer's disease slow down memory loss. So, we are engaged in brain-computer interface technology not to create so-called tipping points, but hoping to repair those daily routines interrupted by fate. Thank you all!
