With the Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day holidays overlapping, many people unlocked an extended break of more than ten days by strategically arranging their leave, opting to travel abroad.

Chinese tourists checked into hotels across more than 2,000 cities worldwide. Data from platforms including Ctrip, Tongcheng, Tuniu, Fliggy, and Qunar shows that the number of tickets for domestic scenic spots and attractions on October 1 rose nearly 30% year-on-year, while orders for overseas transfers and local overseas activities grew 43% and 37% respectively compared to last year.

Qunar data shows that on October 1, hotel check-ins peaked during the holiday period, with bookings in popular cities up 20% year-on-year. Overall travel enthusiasm exceeded previous years, with tourists staying in hotels and guesthouses across more than a thousand counties nationwide, and Chinese travelers spotted in hotels in over 2,000 cities globally.

Combining data from multiple platforms, on October 1, 20% of tourists had already moved on to a "second city," nearly 30% booked hotels in two or more cities, the average hotel stay lasted 3.2 days, and stays spanning four or more cities increased 53%.

The extended holiday boosted long-haul travel notably, with bookings for routes over 2,000 kilometers up more than 40% year-on-year. Young people flocked to scenic spots "with stories," with searches for "immersive performances," "fireworks shows," and "night tours" rising over 50% year-on-year.

Netizens said: "The whole world knows Chinese people are on holiday." According to media reports, multiple Chinese tourists traveling in Australia said that whether in Sydney or Melbourne, many attractions and stations were filled with Chinese visitors. "Forward, backward, left, right 鈥?it's all Chinese compatriots. You can understand everyone around you without any barrier."

A media reporter searched social platforms and found that many Chinese tourists posted about encountering numerous fellow outbound travelers overseas during the National Day holiday.

On social media platforms, some Chinese tourists casually shared check-in photos tagged with IP addresses from Portugal, Switzerland, the United States, South Africa, and elsewhere, paired with the once-viral background track "Chinese People Can Fly."
