On the afternoon of October 8th, Tuniu Corporation released the "2025 National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival Travel Consumption Report," analyzing user travel behavior and tourism consumption during this year's National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival holiday period. The report data shows that during this year's National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival holiday, Tuniu user travel volume increased by double digits compared to the same period last year. Among these, domestic self-driving tours and independent travel showed significant growth in popularity; for outbound travel, independent travel volume increased by nearly 100% year-over-year.

This year's National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival holidays coincided, creating travel patterns characterized by dual peaks for vacationing and family visits, with the "take 3 days off, get 12 days total" staggered travel model being particularly favored by tourists. According to the latest data as of October 8th, nearly 15% of Tuniu users chose to begin their journeys before the official holiday period (before October 1st), with the travel peak period extending from September 30th through October 5th, and the holiday travel peak occurring on the first day of the holiday. On October 6th, with the arrival of the Mid-Autumn Festival, the tourism market welcomed peak return and family visit traffic.

Under the combined influence of National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival, the holiday tourism market exhibited a strong family-oriented atmosphere, with family travelers accounting for over 80% of traveling users. Tuniu data shows that first-tier and new first-tier cities including Beijing, Chengdu, Shanghai, Hangzhou, Nanjing, Suzhou, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Chongqing, and Tianjin ranked as the top popular departure cities during this year's National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival holiday period.

The 8-day "extended" holiday provided tourists with more ample vacation time. Report data indicates that more users chose 5 to 6-day travel itineraries. Among domestic long-distance travel users, 46% selected 5 to 6-day travel itineraries; among outbound short-distance travel users, 54% chose 5 to 6-day travel itineraries; outbound long-distance travel users showed greater preference for 10 to 13-day itineraries, accounting for 65% of outbound long-distance travel volume.

During this year's National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival holiday, destinations including Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu, Hangzhou, Nanjing, Chongqing, Guangzhou, Xi'an, Sanya, and Guiyang ranked high in popularity, appearing at the top of Tuniu users' "2025 National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival Holiday Popular Domestic Destinations List."
