At the opening bell on September 15, 2026, China's domestic commodity futures displayed a mixed bag of performances, with energy contracts leading the gains while base metals and precious metals faced downward pressure. SC crude oil surged more than 6% in early trading, marking one of the strongest openings for the energy sector in recent sessions.

Following the rally in crude, coking coal climbed nearly 4%, while fuel oil advanced over 3%. Low-sulphur fuel oil (LU) also posted solid gains, rising close to 3%, as the broader energy complex benefited from bullish sentiment in the oil markets.

On the losing side, tin dropped more than 2%, making it the worst performer of the morning. Glass, silver, and platinum each fell by nearly 2%, while soda ash, gold, copper, and zinc all declined by over 1% as investors rotated out of certain industrial and precious metals.
