Recently, BANKCOMM hosted the inaugural session of the "Global Financial Institutions Entering China's Financial Market" series, organized by the Shanghai Financial Industry Association, focusing on the interbank market. The event was attended by Ren Deqi, Chairman of the Shanghai Financial Industry Association and Chairman of BANKCOMM, who delivered opening remarks. Also present were Yin Jiuyong, Vice President of BANKCOMM, representatives from the Shanghai Municipal Office of Financial Affairs and the People's Bank of China Shanghai Headquarters, as well as nearly 60 financial institutions from 20 countries and regions worldwide.

Ren Deqi emphasized that the interbank market, as a core component of the financial system and a key vehicle for institutional financial openness, plays a vital role in enhancing Shanghai’s status as an international financial hub and establishing it as a global center for RMB asset allocation and risk management. The association will collaborate with domestic and international financial institutions to promote higher-level openness in the interbank market. By empowering market liberalization, it will effectively support the functional upgrade of Shanghai’s international financial center, continuously optimize the business environment in line with the practical needs of foreign institutions, and deepen synergy between Chinese and foreign financial entities to foster a cooperative framework based on mutual benefit.

As the chair unit of the association, BANKCOMM is fully committed to supporting the organization in leveraging its role as a key financial association in Shanghai. It will work alongside local financial infrastructure providers and domestic and international financial institutions to design the "Global Financial Institutions Entering China's Financial Market" series. The initiative will focus on addressing the concerns and development needs of foreign financial institutions participating in China’s financial market, building a network of peers in Shanghai, and establishing a global connectivity platform to help Shanghai create a world-class business environment and innovation ecosystem.
