Data released by the National Bureau of Statistics on Tuesday showed that China's Manufacturing Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) for March registered at 50.4%, rising by 1.4 percentage points from the previous month and returning above the 50-point mark that separates expansion from contraction after a two-month gap. Commenting on the recovery in the manufacturing PMI's performance, Wang Qing, Chief Macro Analyst at Dongfang Jincheng, stated that the reversal of the Spring Festival holiday distortion effect led to a significant seasonal rebound in the manufacturing PMI index. Furthermore, export advantages and the effectiveness of macroeconomic policies, coupled with a sharp increase in investment, particularly in infrastructure investment, provided strong support for the improvement in manufacturing activity in March.
