The Tema Space Innovators ETF, trading under the symbol NASA, surged 5.02% during the night session, driven by a series of major contract awards and strategic announcements from the National Aeronautics and Space Administration regarding its ambitious lunar exploration program.

NASA unveiled detailed plans for establishing a sustained human presence at the Moon's south pole through its Moon Base initiative, awarding hundreds of millions of dollars in contracts to key aerospace companies. Significant awards included a $188 million contract to Blue Origin for lunar lander services, a $219 million contract to Astrolab for lunar terrain vehicle development, and a $75 million subcontract to Firefly Aerospace to deliver drones to the lunar surface for the MoonFall mission.

The broad-based rally in space-related stocks reflects investor optimism about increased government spending on lunar infrastructure and the sector's growth prospects, further buoyed by the recent filing for SpaceX's initial public offering, which has renewed interest in the public space investment theme.
