Kingsoft Cloud Holdings Ltd (ASX: KC) shares opened significantly higher, gaining more than 5%. At the time of writing, the stock is up 5.18% to HK$5.89, with a trading volume of HK$10.15 million.

The upward move follows a company announcement regarding price adjustments. According to an official notice, due to rising global demand for AI computing power and increasing hardware costs, Kingsoft Cloud will adjust pricing for certain products and services.

Prices for AI computing power-related products and services will increase by approximately 15% to 50%, while prices for file storage-related services will see hikes of about 30% to 50%. These new rates are scheduled to take effect from July 12, 2026, at 00:00 Beijing Time.

Existing customer orders will not be affected during the current billing cycle, with the new pricing applying at the start of the next billing period.

Market analysis views this move as part of a broader industry trend. The price increase for Kingsoft Cloud's AI computing services, ranging from 15% to 50%, is seen as a continuation of similar adjustments recently made by other major cloud providers. This shift is interpreted as a sign that the AI computing power market is moving away from a phase of intense price competition and towards a pricing model more reflective of underlying supply and demand dynamics.
