Recently, the Northern Headquarters of ZTO Express officially commenced operations in the Guangyang Economic Development Zone of Langfang City, Hebei Province. This milestone indicates that all eight major domestic express brands' regional headquarters or operation centers in Langfang City are now fully operational, enhancing the express service level in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.

On the morning of the launch, two sets of double-layer cross-belt automatic sorting equipment were operating at high speed within the incoming sorting center of ZTO Express's Northern Headquarters. This sorting equipment boasts an efficiency of 70,000 parcels per hour, with the entire process from unloading, sorting, to reloading taking a mere 10 minutes at best. According to Operations Supervisor Li Chao, "The entire process requires only one scan, with a sorting error rate as low as 0.01%. This system can save over 40% in labor for the same volume of parcels."

The Northern Headquarters of ZTO Express has invested a total of 1.1 billion yuan, with a construction area of 448,000 square meters. It serves as a high-end smart supply chain hub connecting the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region and radiating across northern China, processing an annual volume of 3.5 billion parcels and generating a projected annual revenue of 3.2 billion yuan.

During the project's construction, ZTO Express demonstrated efficiency by securing land in the same year they signed contracts and starting construction within the month. Since settling in 2023, the Guangyang District has established a project service team to assist with various challenges. The timeframe from obtaining the "State-owned Land Use Certificate" to acquiring the "Construction Engineering Permit" was just 62 days.

The formal operation of the ZTO Express Northern Headquarters positions Langfang as the city with the most express regional headquarters or operation centers in the province. Currently, famous express companies such as China Post, SF Express, JD.com, "Three Post and One Reach", and Jitu have gathered in Langfang, forming a headquarters space pattern where "South has Shanghai Qingpu, and North has Hebei Langfang". Zhang Huirong, Director of the Langfang Postal Administration, noted that the aggregation of express regional headquarters significantly enhances Langfang’s core hub status and resource allocation capabilities within the national express network, strengthening its logistics distribution functions serving both the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region and beyond, even worldwide.

Currently, the city's daily transfer handling capacity exceeds 37 million parcels, with an average of over 5.9 million parcels dispatched from Langfang to locations across the nation and the world daily, placing it among the top tier in Hebei Province for business scale and service efficiency. Data shows that in the first eight months of this year, the parcel volume in Langfang's postal industry reached 1.47 billion parcels, marking a year-on-year increase of 34%. Among these, express parcel volume hit 1.43 billion parcels, up 36.45% year-on-year.
