Ferrari CEO Benedetto Vigna stated that despite significant criticism following the debut of the new all-electric model, Luce, the company is satisfied with the vehicle's launch results.

He confirmed on Thursday that the renowned Italian automaker will make "no adjustments" to the vehicle's launch schedule, set for this spring. The unveiling of Luce triggered a wave of negative market feedback, including criticism from former Ferrari executive Luca di Montezemolo, which led to a notable decline in Ferrari NV shares.

During a second-quarter earnings call with reporters, Vigna said, "I will not change any arrangements for the launch of Luce. We are very satisfied with the results achieved so far."

Priced at 550,000 euros (approximately $640,000), Vigna did not disclose order volumes or sales expectations for the vehicle. However, the company, which sold 13,640 cars last year, noted that its order book is already filled through 2027.

Media reports on Wednesday indicated that Ferrari plans to deliver nearly 500 units of the Luce model this year. Since its official launch on May 25, the entire annual allocation has been sold out within less than two months.

Vigna remarked, "We are very satisfied, and the project is progressing as planned." He declined to comment on the specific media reports.

The Luce, designed by former Apple chief designer Jony Ive, features a radical departure from traditional Ferrari styling. Its interior adopts a minimalist approach with multiple screens, while the exterior boasts smooth, rounded lines. This marks Ferrari's first-ever fully electric vehicle.

Ferrari employed a phased launch strategy for the Luce, revealing the interior early and releasing online videos detailing the vehicle's development history and debut information.

Vigna explained, "This car incorporates a large number of new designs and technologies. The phased rollout is the best way to help the public fully understand each innovation highlight, so the overall effect has been quite good."

On the day of the model's debut, Ferrari's U.S.-listed shares recorded their largest single-day decline of the year, falling 8.4%. However, the stock has since recovered those losses.
